Environmental management

Environmental protection and sustainability are major priorities for MAURER, which is why we have implemented an outstanding environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. This internationally recognised standard ensures that we pursue ambitious environmental goals and strategies to keep any adverse environmental impact to a minimum.

The aim of our environmental policy is to constantly improve our activities so that the environmental impact and pollution are reduced. This means that we encourage and implement the use of ecologically sound practices in all our business divisions. In doing so, we not only take aspects of immediate production into consideration, but also the entire supply chain and the lifecycle of our products.

Over the last 15 years we have already put a multitude of measures for energy management into practice.

• Adjusting manufacturing processes, thus saving 20 - 30% in carbon emissions
• Solar thermal systems for water treatment
• Large-scale photovoltaics plant for grid feed-in
• Retrofitting of various light sources in production and in office workspaces
• Modernisation of the heating system and the doors in production sheds
• Conversion of the fleet to electric and hybrid vehicles
• Opportunity for staff to use bike-to-work scheme
